Vintage (1960s) Two Strand Zuni Fetish Necklace with Pink Angel Coral Beads and Hand Carved Fetishes made with Mother of Pearl, Abalone Shell, and Turquoise. This piece contains fetish carvings all by members of the George Cheechee Haloo family including Rosita Kaamasee, Rose Nancy Kaamasee, Lita Delena, Rosalie Quam, and the larger fetishes by George Cheechee Haloo. George Cheechee was the father of all four of these artist, Rosita Kaamasee, Rose Nancy Kaamasee, Lita Delena, and Rosalie Quam (step daughter). Rosalie was married to Emerson Quam. George Cheechee is one of the most important figures in Zuni fetish carving. He began carving in the 1930s and taught his family members and multiple generations of Zunis on the art of Zuni fetish carving.
