Bezel Wrapped Cabochons

When setting stones, the artist must shape and polish their stones into cabochons. Artists then create bezels, or protruding circles of silver or gold, in the shape of each stone. The bezels are soldered onto the primary piece and the stones are set into the bezels. In the final step, the bezel is tightened around the stone to lock it in place.
