    Larry Vasquez

Born in Silver City, New Mexico in 1947, Larry Vasquez is of Aztec, Apache, Mayan, and Mescalero descent. He comes from a long line of creative people; his great-grandfather was a flute maker, his grandfather harvested silver and gold, and his father was a musician and artist.

Larry describes himself as a bit of a dreamer, poet, and visionary.  He has a colorful personality.  He is passionate, sensitive, emotional, truthful, impetuous, vivacious, respectful, and intense. He honors life, God, and all children of the universe. He is one with all, encompassing all within.

Much of Larry's inspiration comes through the beauty of nature, hence his love for working with paints and the gems and minerals of our Earth; Our Mother. Not satisfied with the commonplace, Larry reaches for the highest quality in everything he does. It is upon this that he has built his reputation. Larry often blends gold, silver, and platinum to produce vivid, breath-taking colors.  Each painting and piece of jewelry is unique. A reflection of the craftsman. A statement for the client.

Larry incorporates old Mayan design, Indian lore, and the themes of nature into his own abstract form. In addition to painting and jewelry making Larry is a master beadmaker. His paintings and jewelry have been purchased by enthusiasts all over the world.
