Murphy Saufkie

Murphy Saufkie is from the Coyote and Bear clans.  He was born in Tuba City, Arizona in 1971and has been carving kachina dolls since he was in his early teens.

Murphy’s early mentors and teachers were his uncles David Roy, Silas Roy, and Coolidge Roy, Jr.  His brother, Arvin Saufkie, is also a very fine kachina doll carver.
