Antique (Circa 1910) Fine Apache Coiled Plaque with Human Figures and Star in Center. This stunning Apache coiled plaque from 1910 is in excellent condition and is one of the finest antique baskets in our collection. Apache trays with pictorial elements such as animal or human figures are often the most valuable and sought-after. This special design features human figures standing atop intricate interwoven lines that create the effect of multiple five pointed stars radiating out from the center of the basket. Apache baskets are woven from willow rods and bark, which are white when fresh. Over time, the willow oxidizes and changes color to a beautiful golden, carmel color as seen in this piece.
