Hand Carved Hopi Shooting Star (Sotuknang) Kachina holding a Lightning Stick as he Empowering the Lightning to Strike. Sotuknang is the nephew of Tawa and created the universe under his uncle’s direction. This kachina is carved entirely from one piece of cottonwood root except for two feathers and the lightning stick. The base features a beautifully painted night sky design with shooting stars.
